The first anime series aired from 2013-2014 and ran for 24 episodes. The series accumulated 22 mainline volumes alongside two additional side-story compilations during its run.Ī manga adaptation illustrated by Tate ran in the Dengeki Daioh imprint from 2012-2016, spanning 10 collected volumes. Gakuto Mikumo’s Strike the Blood light novel series was serialized in ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko imprint from 2011-2020. Sano is best known for doing the character designs for Absolute Duo and Restaurant to Another World alongside his extensive work on Strike the Blood. Yoshino has served as screenwriter for each Strike the Blood anime project, and has also done work on the A Certain Magical Index and Code Geass series. Yamamoto has directed every Strike the Blood anime project and also worked on the Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva film and episode six of Re:Zero. Director Hideyo Yamamoto, composer Assumed Sounds, scriptwriter Hiroyuki Yoshino, and character designer Keiichi Sano will all reprise their roles. Much of the series staff and cast will return for the final OVA season. A booklet with a new short story by author Gakuto Mikumo, as well as volume and manga notes will also be included. The first volume will have a limited first edition released with various bonus extras such as audio commentary for the first episode and a television AD.
